This has got to be one of my favorite weddings I’ve shot this summer. Markie & Kyle are two very creative people and their love for the arts and literature were shared through their decorations. From the hand picked antiques to the antique cameras, and the different shapes and sizes coffee mug party favor gifts; this wedding had everything sweet and simple and more! The couple couldn’t have picked a cuter venue than the Meadow Creek Bed & Breakfast in Pine, Co.
I think it’s so wonderful that they had these little his/her vow booklets where they took some time to reflect on their relationship and then shared their deepest thoughts and love for each other on the day of the wedding. Anyone who knows them will tell you that they’ve been through some pretty hard times with each other but it was through it all that made them stronger. I have to say that even I got a bit teary eyed listening their self written vows that they shared.
We had the perfect overcast day in Pine, Colorado for photos and even though there was a little rain in the middle of the day after our first look photos, the clouds cleared up just in time for the ceremony. The Mikey’s had such a wonderful family and very good friends. It is always a pleasure to capture friends and family in their natural happy state just enjoying each other’s company.
I’ve seen tea ceremonies in eastern cultures but this was one unique ceremony for the books. Because Markie and Kyle loved having coffee with each other in the morning, they shared their first coffee as husband and wife as well as with Kyle’s son as a whole family after they exchanged their vows. In addition to their love for coffee, they also love breakfast and so they had a breakfast bar for dinner. They had everything from chicken and waffles to a mimosa bar to a crepe station!
Instead of cake for dessert, they had a fun homemade pie table and shared a slice instead of the traditional cake cutting. I can’t forget to mention that their guestbook was super fun; guests used stamps and their finger prints made balloons and signed it.
